One piece of a farm’s mastitis management program is
dry cow treatment. The National Mastitis Council’s review of research indicates that most herds will benefit from treating all quarters of all cows at drying off with a proven teat infusion. This is an option that has not been available to organic herds as most treatments are antibiotic based.
Essential Cinnatube™ is now available for use by organic dairy herds in the US. It has been researched at the
University of Aberdeen in Scotland
and tens of thousands of infusions have been successfully used in England and
Europe. It is an important management tool in the prevention of new mastitis infections.
Essential Cinnatube™ is based on a blend of essential oils long known for their therapeutic qualities. You will immediately note the pleasant aroma of cinnamon oil.
Cinnatube™ is available in 10 ml tubes.
Research on Cinnatube™ is being pursued in the United States and will be posted on this website when available.
Essential Cinnatube™
is now manufactured in North America and distributed by New Agritech. It is for sale through veterinarians. I encourage producers that are interested in
Cinnatube™ to call New Agritech (607-379-3793) for more information. Then discuss the need for
dry cow treatment in your herd with your veterinarian and make them aware of the research that is available on-line through this site. Your veterinarian will also want to call to discuss
Cinnatube™ and to purchase. |

"A mastitis infection before first service will increase the time to service by an average 14 days and add an average of 21 days to a cow’s calving interval. A mastitis infection between first service and conception would add an average 57 days to a cow’s calving interval...”
"This hidden effect (of a mastitis infection)* on fertility has severe financial implications”
